Aquila Gilbert of Campbell Co., VA to Richard Bloxom of C., for and in consideration of 1000 acres of land in Fayette County, [Kentucky] to Gilbert in hand paid (the Ky land being on Ilkhorn and Licking [Creeks?] and adjoining homas Logwood’s survey on the north and adjoining line).  For the above consideration, Gilbert sells to Bloxom one certain tract of land of 660 acres in C on the south side of Seneca Cr, together with the mills thereon, and bounded by the line where Henry Snow now lives, the top of a ridge, Peter Hairston, Thos Gilbert, the Sawmill Race, a fixed stone on the east side of the Race, Mill pond above the Saw Mill.  Signed – Aqa Gilbert, Elizh Gilbert.  Wit – Isaac Reynolds, Charles (+ his mark) Burrus, James Carver.  This deed was acknowledged by Aquila Gilbert and Elizabeth, his wife.  Recorded Oct 2, 1788.  (Halifax County, VA Personal Property Tax Lists:  1782-1791,  TLC Genealogy, 1998  Deed Book   p. 311)
