Wm. Suddarth, planter, to Jas. Suddarth, carpenter, in cous. of 200 ac. On Red Bar Hallow, 200 ac. South branch of Hardwar, part of 300 acres bought by Wm. Suddarth from Abraham Venable; 100 ac. Is where house stands of Wm. Suddarth and reserved for Lawrence Suddarth.  May 8, 1750.  (Albemarle County, Va.  Deed Book 1, page 184.  William had both a brother and a son named James).

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA                     survey                          May 3, 1754

Survey of 150 acres on South Side of Hatt Creek for Samuel Denny on May 3, 1754 bordering the line of the Late Rev’d Robert Rose on the south and on the north was the side of a steep [or sheep] mountain.  Survey made by W. Cabell, Jr.  (1st Albemarle Co., Survey Book, page 266.)

 

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA                     land grant                    March 10, 1756

March 10, 1756, George the second grants Benjamin Denny 143 acres lying in the County of Albemarle adjacent to the northside of the Rivanna River at a corner [unreadable] of Henry Martin’s landing on the Riverbank on Thomas Appleberry’s, Phillip Thurman’s and John Martin’s lines.  He paid 15 shillins.  Signed by Rob’t Dinwiddie, Governor (Virginia Patent Book 32 1752-1756 p. 710.  The Rivanna River flows from the north into the James River near the boundry line of Goochland and Fluvanna Counties.  In 1756 the Fluvanna area was part of Albemarle County.  It is about three miles west of Byrd Creek.  Both John and Benjamin shared a boundary with John Martin.)  (Land Office Patents No. 32, 1752-1756 v.1 & 2 p.1-715 p. 710—Reel 30.  http://lvaimage.lib.va.us/cgi-bin/GetLONN.pl?first+710&last=&g )

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA                     land grant                    Sept 26, 1760

Benjamin DENNEY granted 94 acres on both sides of the main branch of Ruckers Run in the coves of a mountain.  (Land office Patents No. 34, 1756-1765, p. 756—Reel 33-34.  see on http://lvaimage.lib.va.us/cgi-bin/GetLONN.pl?first=756&last=&g  Denney paid 10 shillings.  Ruckers Run flows east into the Rockfish River and crosses Highways 29 and 56 about 3 miles south of Lovington in Nelson County.  Hat Creek is about 3 miles northeast of Ruckers Run

Appleberry, Phillip Thurmond, Sam Martin and Wm. Martin.  WILLIAM MARTIN, born ca 1750 in Goochland, VA. Received 133 acres at the mouth of Roundabout Creek from his father's 1752 will.
