ALBERT GORE is undoubtedly the most famous descendant of John Denney of New Kent County, Virginia.  Formerly a Conngressman and Senator from Tennessee, Vice President Al Gore received the most popular votes in the 2000 Presidential Election.  He is an Academy Award winner and is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his groundbreaking documentary on the environment An Inconvenient Truth.  Known around the world for his advocacy of the environment and awareness of global warming, he is easily the most recognizable Denney descendant ... in the world.  Regardless of your political views, and I know that Al is currently being excoriated by the right, please check out algore.com to learn more about how we can save our world.  Connect Al Gore to your Denney line here!  Watch a trailer for Al Gore's award winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth

Jim Denny (1911-1963)
Was one of the first members inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Once a powerful figure in the Music Industry, Denny founded Cedarwood publishing with Webb Pierce in 1953.   Another business venture, the Jim Denny Artist Bureau at one time represented most of the major stars in country music.

Although less controversial than Al Gore, as manager of the Grand Old Opry turned away Elvis Presley telling him that he "wasn't quite right" for the Opry.  If he hadn't Elvis might have become a Country star and never been the King of Rock and Roll.
